Pommard Les Cras
Domaine Roger Belland
The term "Les Cras" comes from the word "craie" (lime). This locality is near Volnay on a mild sloppy ground and its soil contains a large amount of limestone and stones.
GRAPE VARIETY : Exclusively 55 year old PINOT NOIR vines.
SURFACE AREA : 1.00 Hectares
PRODUCTION : 5500 bottles per year.
TERROIR : fairly stony clay-limestone soil.
This wine has a wonderful colour with slight vanilla and roast coffee bean aromas. It is a wine with ripe grapes on the palate, noble tannins and a touch of spice. It blends elegance with power.
This POMMARD Les Cras wine is ideal served with game (hare or wild boar) or with red meat or even regional dishes like Coq au Vin and beef Bourguignon
